NVIDIA Injects $2B into Marvell, Expands AI Ecosystem via NVLink Fusion
NVIDIA invested $2 billion in Marvell to link Marvell’s XPUs and networking to its AI factory and AI-RAN ecosystem via NVLink Fusion. Marvell will deliver custom XPUs and NVLink Fusion-compatible networking while NVIDIA provides Vera CPUs, ConnectX NICs, BlueField DPUs and Spectrum-X switches for 5G/6G AI infrastructure.
1. Partnership and Investment
NVIDIA has committed $2 billion to Marvell, establishing a strategic alliance to integrate Marvell’s silicon and networking products into its AI infrastructure. The agreement connects Marvell to NVIDIA’s AI factory and AI-RAN ecosystem via NVLink Fusion and includes collaboration on silicon photonics technology.
2. Marvell's Technology Contributions
Under the deal, Marvell will supply custom XPUs and NVLink Fusion-compatible scale-up networking, enabling heterogeneous compute architectures. NVIDIA will contribute its Vera CPUs, ConnectX NICs, BlueField DPUs and Spectrum-X switches to ensure seamless integration and broad compatibility with existing GPU and storage platforms.
3. 5G/6G AI-RAN and Photonics
The partnership targets transformation of global telecommunications networks into AI infrastructures through NVIDIA Aerial AI-RAN for 5G and 6G. Joint development of optical interconnect solutions and advanced silicon photonics is expected to boost network throughput and lower latency for next-generation AI workloads.
