Nvidia delivered record revenue of $81.6bn in the first quarter of fiscal 2027, marking an 85% increase year-over-year, while non-GAAP EPS reached $1.87, topping analyst forecasts. Data center revenue, the company’s largest segment, rose 92% to $75.2bn, driven by strong demand for AI chips.
2. Hyperscaler and Data Center Insights
Hyperscaler customers such as Amazon, Alphabet and Microsoft accounted for half of data center revenue, which grew 12% quarter-over-quarter to $38bn. The remaining data center sales came from AI clouds, industrial, enterprise and sovereign clients, underscoring diversification beyond major cloud providers.
3. Capital Returns and Guidance
Nvidia authorized an additional $80bn share repurchase program and increased its quarterly cash dividend to $0.25 per share, up from $0.01. The company returned roughly $20bn to shareholders in Q1 and set second-quarter revenue guidance at $91bn plus or minus 2%.

Despite US approval to export H200 chips, Nvidia reported zero China data center revenue for the quarter and is uncertain on future China shipments. The company also streamlined its reporting into two segments—Data Center and Edge Computing—to clarify growth drivers across server and agentic AI markets.
