Nvidia Rises 3% as AWS AI Forecasts Climb and SLB Partnership Grows
Citi lifted AWS sales forecasts to 28% in Q1 2026, 29% in 2026 and 37% in 2027 based on AI infrastructure agreements with Nvidia, Anthropic and OpenAI. Nvidia shares jumped over 3% following sector-wide CPU price hikes and a new SLB alliance to deploy AI data centers for energy applications.
1. AWS Growth Forecasts
Citi analysts raised their AWS price target from $265 to $285 after projecting AI-driven revenue growth of 28% in Q1 2026, 29% for the full year and 37% in 2027. Multiyear infrastructure agreements with Nvidia, Anthropic and OpenAI underlie the upgraded outlook for AI training and inference workloads.
2. SLB Energy Partnership
Nvidia and SLB have expanded their decade-long alliance to build AI factories, develop generative models tailored to exploration and production, and enhance SLB’s Delfi and Lumi platforms with Omniverse and Nemotron software. SLB will also serve as a modular design partner for Nvidia’s AI data center systems, aiming to boost processing efficiency for energy data.
3. Sector Pricing Power
Chipmakers AMD and Intel announced March–April CPU price increases, lifting AMD by over 6% and Intel by nearly 8%. Nvidia gained more than 3% as investors bet that persistent supply tightness for AI workloads will support sustained pricing power and bolster its growing data center CPU ambitions.
