Nvidia Secures $1B Nokia AI Deal and Supplies 170,000 GPUs to Firmus
NVDA•Nokia surged 133% after unveiling a $1 billion AI infrastructure partnership with Nvidia for 6G networks, while Firmus Technologies agreed to deploy 170,000 Nvidia GPUs in Batam through 2027–28. OpenAI’s projected $115 billion infrastructure spend underscores Nvidia’s dominance as AI data center investment accelerates.
1. $1 B Nokia AI Partnership
Nokia and Nvidia have committed to a $1 billion agreement to develop AI-enabled 6G cellular networks. This collaboration is expected to drive Nokia’s network infrastructure sales growth to 12–14% and generate significant GPU product revenue for Nvidia over the coming years.
2. 170,000 GPUs for Firmus
Australian AI infrastructure firm Firmus Technologies will purchase and deploy 170,000 Nvidia GPUs in Batam, Indonesia, between Q1 2027 and early 2028. Nvidia will earn both product revenue and a share of cloud services revenue, with Firmus projecting up to $30 billion in revenue over the first six years.
3. OpenAI’s $115 B Infrastructure Plans
OpenAI plans to spend $115 billion on computing infrastructure through 2029, heavily relying on Nvidia’s GPU chips. This massive commitment cements Nvidia’s role as the primary supplier for large-scale AI model training and deployment.
4. Accelerating AI Data Center Build-Out
Global AI data center investment is accelerating as hyperscalers and enterprise customers expand capacity. Nvidia’s GPU ecosystem—including partnerships and new hardware deployments—positions the company to capture a growing share of this multibillion-dollar market.
