Nvidia Lands 170K GPU Deal for $30B, Taps $115B OpenAI Spend
NVDA•Nvidia has agreed to supply 170,000 GPUs to Australia’s Firmus Technologies from Q1 2027 through early 2028, potentially delivering up to $30 billion in product and cloud revenue over six years. OpenAI’s planned $115 billion infrastructure spending through 2029 will heavily rely on Nvidia’s GPU chips, underpinning continued demand.
1. Firmus Technologies GPU Partnership
Nvidia will deliver 170,000 graphics processing units to Firmus Technologies between the first quarter of 2027 and early 2028. The deal grants Nvidia both hardware revenue and a share of cloud service income, with Firmus projecting up to $30 billion in revenue from customer commitments during the first six years.
2. OpenAI’s Infrastructure Investment
OpenAI plans to invest about $115 billion in infrastructure through 2029, driven by compute-intensive AI workloads. Nvidia’s leadership in high-performance GPUs positions it to capture the bulk of this spending wave, supporting sustained growth in data center sales.
