Nvidia Secures Multi-Year Meta Deal for Millions of GPUs and Grace CPUs
Meta has entered a multi-year partnership with Nvidia to deploy millions of Blackwell and Rubin GPUs alongside Arm-based Grace CPUs across on-premises and cloud-based hyperscale data centres. Both firms will co-design software optimisations and prepare for Nvidia Vera CPU adoption in 2027 to boost energy efficiency.
1. Partnership Scope
Meta and Nvidia have agreed on a multi-year collaboration to equip on-premises and cloud-based hyperscale data centres with millions of Nvidia Blackwell and Rubin GPUs for AI training and inference workloads.
2. CPU and Networking Integration
The deal expands Meta’s use of Arm-based Nvidia Grace CPUs and integrates Nvidia Spectrum-X Ethernet switches and GB300 systems to enhance performance per watt and deliver low-latency connectivity across its infrastructure.
3. Software Optimisation and Efficiency
Engineering teams from both companies will co-design software optimisations and develop CPU ecosystem libraries to improve operational efficiency and performance with each successive hardware generation.
4. Future Vera Deployment
The partnership includes joint preparations for large-scale adoption of Nvidia Vera CPUs starting in 2027, targeting further energy-efficiency improvements and support for next-generation AI compute requirements.
