Nvidia’s partnership with TSMC will establish its first Phoenix fab—one of three planned U.S. chip plants—creating an abundance of new local tech jobs. The move bolsters Nvidia’s supply chain resilience and positions it to capture growing on-device AI inferencing demand from Apple and other hardware makers.
Nvidia, the world’s largest chip seller, partnered with TSMC to build chip manufacturing capacity in Phoenix, Arizona. This collaboration represents the first of three planned U.S. fab sites designed to reduce reliance on offshore production.
The Phoenix plant is the initial phase of a broader plan to establish three U.S. chip fabrication facilities. These sites are expected to create an abundance of high-skilled local jobs and stimulate the surrounding Arizona economy.
By localizing production, Nvidia aims to enhance supply chain resilience and support growing demand for on-device AI inferencing chips. This move positions Nvidia to better serve hardware partners seeking to run AI workloads directly on devices.
