Nvidia to Accelerate Nuclear Reactor Design with AI and Win from $190B Capex
Nvidia teamed with Oklo and Los Alamos National Laboratory to use its AI computing for nuclear reactor fuel research and design validation over multiyear regulatory timelines. The chipmaker also benefits from Alphabet’s raised $180–190 billion AI infrastructure capex and is projected to deliver 72% revenue growth as physical AI demand surges.
1. Oklo Nuclear AI Collaboration
Nvidia and Oklo have launched a joint effort with Los Alamos National Laboratory to integrate Nvidia’s AI computing into Oklo’s nuclear reactor fuel research, simulation and design validation processes. This collaboration aims to shorten fuel qualification timelines and support reactor licensing despite complex, multiyear regulatory reviews.
2. Alphabet AI Infrastructure Spending
Alphabet boosted its capital expenditure guidance to $180–190 billion, earmarking a major share for AI data center build-out. As one of the largest GPU and system providers, Nvidia is positioned to capture substantial sales from this expanded infrastructure investment.
3. Physical AI Drives Supply Chain Gains
Nvidia’s strategic shift into physical AI—including robotics, autonomous systems and AI-enabled manufacturing—sparked double-digit rallies among Asian partners. LG Electronics shares rose 15%, Nanya Technology climbed 10%, while Samsung’s semiconductor division reported a 48-fold profit jump and SK Hynix saw earnings quintuple on deeper Nvidia collaborations.
