Nvidia signed a 50-year lease (plus 20-year extension) with Taipei for a 40 billion NTD ($1.3 billion) Beitou-Shilin Technology Park headquarters, with construction due in June or July and 12.2 billion NTD in royalties. 1. Headquarters Deal and Lease Terms
Taipei City Government and Nvidia finalized a contract granting a 50-year lease on land in Beitou-Shilin Technology Park, with an option to extend for an additional 20 years. Construction is scheduled to begin in June or July.
2. Financial Commitments and Job Creation
The headquarters will cost over 40 billion NTD ($1.3 billion) to build, with Nvidia committing 12.2 billion NTD in royalties, including a 1.2 billion NTD settlement payment. Once operational, the facility is projected to generate more than 10,000 jobs.
3. Government Approval and Strategic Expansion
Earlier government approval covered a 3.3 billion NTD ($105 million) commercial office component for the site. The project strengthens Nvidia’s collaboration with Taiwan Semiconductor after surpassing Apple as its largest customer and supports expanded local R&D.
