Nvidia Teams with Oklo on AI Nuclear Reactors, Asia's Supply Chain Hits 90%

NVDANVDA

Nvidia and Oklo teamed with Los Alamos Lab to use AI simulations for faster fuel research and reactor design validation targeting data-center power bottlenecks. Nvidia’s shift into physical AI pushed Asian suppliers’ production-cost share to about 90%, triggering double-digit stock rallies for partners like LG Electronics and Nanya Technology.

1. Nuclear Reactor AI Collaboration

Nvidia and Oklo have entered a multi-year collaboration with Los Alamos National Laboratory to leverage Nvidia’s AI-driven simulation platform for accelerated nuclear fuel research and reactor design validation. This alliance aims to mitigate power constraints in AI data centers by shortening development cycles, though Oklo remains pre-revenue and faces multiyear regulatory approval processes.

2. Physical AI Expansion Sparks Supply-Chain Rally

Nvidia’s strategic shift into physical AI—encompassing robotics, autonomous systems and AI-enabled manufacturing—has increased the contribution of Asian suppliers to roughly 90% of its production costs, up from 65% last year. Major partners including LG Electronics and Nanya Technology have seen double-digit stock rallies, fueled by commitments from hyperscalers such as Microsoft, Amazon and Alphabet to spend nearly $200 billion on AI infrastructure this year.
