Ocean Power Technologies boosted US PowerBuoy deployments from one to five systems, including three supporting Homeland Security, one for Navy research and one at US research institution. International deployments include three WAM-V vessels and one PowerBuoy in the United Arab Emirates, with WAM-V units operating in Taiwan and other regions.

1. US PowerBuoy Deployment Expansion

Ocean Power Technologies increased its US PowerBuoy footprint from a single research-focused system to five concurrent deployments. Three units now support Department of Homeland Security activities, one is dedicated to Navy research collaboration and one powers US research institution’s maritime project.

2. International WAM-V and PowerBuoy Deployments

Overseas, OPT deployed three WAM-V unmanned surface vessels and one PowerBuoy in the United Arab Emirates, solidifying its presence in Middle Eastern markets. Additional WAM-V platforms are active in Taiwan and other regions, demonstrating growing demand for autonomous maritime monitoring solutions.

3. Strategic Showcasing and Market Demand

The company is presenting its WAM-V platform at Special Operations Forces Week in Tampa to engage defense and advanced marine operations stakeholders. The event appearance underscores OPT’s drive to secure further contracts and expand usage of its autonomous vessels in defense and research applications.
