OceanaGold reports 6.3 m at 97.2 g/t gold in Wharekirauponga drilling update
OGC•OceanaGold reported drill intercepts at Wharekirauponga, including 6.3 m at 97.2 g/t gold. Five rigs are active, while Waihi North development remains on plan and a technical report is scheduled for January 2027.

OceanaGold reported high-grade drill results at Wharekirauponga, 10 km north of Waihi, including 6.3 m at 97.2 g/t gold, 8.5 m at 41.5 g/t and 4.2 m at 32.4 g/t in the East Graben vein zone. The company said the results support resource conversion and potential reserve growth. Five rigs are targeting a southern high-grade zone described as open along strike, up-dip and at depth. At Waihi North, the decline has advanced about 350 m since May 2026 and ventilation shaft construction has started; a district technical report scheduled for January 2027 will consider a plant expansion to 1.2 Mtpa from 0.8 Mtpa.
