Octave survey shows 74% of life sciences manufacturers face product recalls in past five years
OCTV•Octave Intelligence’s 2026 survey found 74% of life sciences manufacturers reported at least one product recall in the past five years; 46% said rectification costs per recall were $10 million to $49.9 million.

Octave Intelligence published its 2026 Pulse of Quality in Manufacturing survey on life sciences and pharma quality operations. Labor or skills shortages affected 75% of respondents, and 80% said shortages hurt product quality. The survey found 63% cited higher internal compliance requirements, 70% reported more internal mandates or quality audits, and 38% used AI; 47% planned deployment within two years. A further 63% expected to increase spending on quality programs in 2026.
