Oculis to Unveil Privosegtor’s PIONEER-1 Progress Post Breakthrough Designation on June 13
OCS•Oculis will present Privosegtor’s development journey, from discovery to PIONEER registrational trials, on June 13, 2026 at Clinical Trials at the Summit 2026 in Las Vegas. After positive Phase 2 ACUITY outcomes and FDA Breakthrough Therapy and EMA PRIME designations, Oculis is advancing PIONEER-1 for optic neuropathies.
1. Upcoming Clinical Presentation
Oculis is scheduled to present Privosegtor in optic neuritis, detailing its transition from discovery to registrational trials at Clinical Trials at the Summit 2026. The presentation by CEO Riad Sherif, M.D., will take place on June 13 at 5:52 PM PDT in Las Vegas, highlighting the PIONEER program’s next steps.
2. Privosegtor’s Phase 2 Success
Privosegtor demonstrated neuroprotective effects in the Phase 2 ACUITY trial, showing improvement in visual function, preservation of GCIPL and RNFL retinal layers, and reduced neurofilament levels post-acute optic neuritis episode. Consistent retinal ganglion cell preservation and functional benefits were observed in animal models of glaucoma, optic neuritis and multiple sclerosis.
3. Regulatory Designations and Registrational Trials
Privosegtor has received FDA Breakthrough Therapy designation and EMA PRIME designation for optic neuritis, plus Orphan Drug status from both agencies. Oculis is now advancing its PIONEER registrational program, including PIONEER-1 in optic neuritis and additional trials for non-arteritic anterior ischemic optic neuropathy.
