Elsewhere, China's state planner said on Friday it will raise retail price caps on petrol and diesel from September 12 by 260 yuan ($38.76) and 250 yuan per metric ton, respectively.
Oil prices ease on Friday but remain up sharply for the week
Oil prices slipped on Friday but were still up more than 7% for the week and U.S. diesel prices hit a record high as attacks along key Middle East shipping routes stoked prolonged supply disruption fears.
Brent crude futures LCOc1 were down $3.75, or 3.48%, to $103.88 a barrel at 1012 GMT. U.S. West Texas Intermediate crude CLc1 fell $3.33, or 3.25%, to $99.15 a barrel. Both benchmarks hit their highest levels since mid May earlier in the session.
