1. Oklo-Meta Campus Agreement
Oklo and Meta Platforms have entered into an agreement to develop a 1.2 GW advanced nuclear power campus on 206 acres in Pike County, Ohio. The plant will supply clean baseload energy directly to Meta’s regional data centers, including its AI supercluster in New Albany.
2. Project Timeline and Capacity
Pre-construction and site characterization are scheduled to begin in 2026, with the first phase targeted to come online by 2030. The facility will expand incrementally to reach a total capacity of 1.2 GW by 2034.
3. Funding Structure and Site Details
Meta has committed prepaid funding for early procurement and development activities on land previously owned by the U.S. Department of Energy. Oklo will oversee reactor design, licensing, and construction planning in collaboration with Meta’s energy team.
4. Economic Impact and Jobs
The project is expected to create thousands of construction and long-term operations jobs in Southern Ohio. It marks Oklo’s largest commercial contract to date and solidifies its role in the emerging small modular reactor sector.
