Okta Unveils AI Agent Security Blueprint and Platform Launching April 30
Okta unveiled an agentic security blueprint and Okta for AI Agents platform launching April 30, 2026, to help enterprises discover and register sanctioned and shadow AI agents as first-class identities. The solution standardizes access controls across servers and APIs, offering a centralized Agent Gateway, automated credential rotation and universal logout.
1. New Agentic Security Blueprint
On March 30, Okta introduced a framework designed to govern AI agents across the enterprise technology stack by answering where agents are deployed, what resources they can access and what actions they can perform.
2. Okta for AI Agents Platform Details
The forthcoming platform, launching April 30, 2026, includes a centralized Agent Gateway for control-plane management, privileged credential vaulting with automatic rotation and a Universal Logout feature capable of instantly revoking all agent access tokens.
3. Addressing Critical Security Gaps
Research indicates 88% of organizations report suspected or confirmed AI agent security incidents while only 22% enforce agent-specific approvals, creating a demand for standardized discovery, identity management and governance that Okta aims to fulfill.
