1. Quarterly results
Old Dominion Freight Line reported third-quarter revenue of $1.59 billion and adjusted EPS of $1.65, beating analyst estimates of $1.56 billion and $1.62, respectively. Net income was $343.75 million.
2. Revenue and costs
Revenue growth was mainly driven by higher LTL revenue per hundredweight, which the company attributed to disciplined yield management. Lower LTL shipments per day were partially offset by higher LTL weight per shipment. The operating ratio improved as salaries, wages and benefits made up a smaller share of revenue and overhead costs fell.
3. Capital spending outlook
The company expects 2026 capital expenditures of about $380 million, saying investments provide flexibility to respond to changing demand conditions. It said it is focused on winning profitable market share over the long term.
