ONE Nuclear, SOO Green sign agreement to explore nuclear power delivery to PJM
ONEN•ONEN•ONEN•ONEN•ONE Nuclear signed a letter of intent with SOO Green to explore delivering power and capacity from a planned Iowa nuclear project to PJM. The project targets up to 1,000 MW, while SOO Green’s 2,100-MW transmission line could begin construction in 2028 and target commercial operations in 2032.
ONE Nuclear signed a letter of intent with SOO Green to explore delivering nuclear power and capacity to PJM. The planned Iowa project targets up to 1,000 MW for Illinois and the wider PJM market.
SOO Green’s planned 2,100-MW underground transmission line would run 350 miles from Mason City, Iowa, to Yorkville, Illinois. Construction could begin as early as 2028, with commercial operations targeted for 2032. Future commercial arrangements require definitive agreements and regulatory and financing requirements to be met; SOO Green will remain open-access.
