Only 29% of energy leaders see sufficient capital and investable projects, Jacobs survey finds
J•Jacobs’ survey found that 29% of energy leaders see both sufficient capital and enough investable projects, while 71% see sufficient capital. More than 75% expect at least a quarter of major energy infrastructure projects to face delays or cost overruns over the next three years.
1. Survey findings
Permitting and regulatory or policy uncertainty were the biggest barriers to faster infrastructure delivery for 56% of respondents. Other infrastructure systems outside their control were major or critical constraints for 57%. Almost 95% were confident critical assets could withstand a major disruption, but only 36% said resilience was embedded in planning and decision-making.
