Opera Unveils MCP Connector, Connecting Five AI Clients Directly in Neon Browser

OPRAOPRA

Opera launched MCP Connector for its Neon browser, allowing AI clients Claude, ChatGPT, Lovable, n8n and OpenClaw direct access to live web context and browser actions. It exposes a MCP endpoint for authenticated sessions and enables navigation, form filling, screenshots, searches and information extraction in Opera Neon.

1. Opera Introduces MCP Connector

Opera has released MCP Connector for its Neon browser, transforming it into an AI execution layer that enables external AI clients to connect directly and operate within the user’s real browser session without manual context transfer.

2. Direct Browser Integration via Model Context Protocol

The update exposes a Model Context Protocol endpoint that provides authenticated AI clients with access to open tabs, page content and user sessions, supporting actions such as navigation, form filling, screenshot capture, searches and information extraction.

3. Supported AI Clients and Capabilities

Popular AI agents including Claude, ChatGPT, Lovable, OpenClaw and n8n can now interoperate with Opera Neon for development, prototyping and automation, allowing workflows to run directly in a live browser environment rather than isolated simulations.

4. Availability in Opera Neon and Planned Expansion

MCP Connector is available today for all Opera Neon subscribers, with a simplified connector slated for Opera One and Opera GX; secure authentication and a persistent proxy layer ensure reliable, authorized AI integration.
