OPK•OPKO Biologics dosed the first participant in a Phase 1/2a trial of OPK-8801001, an investigational long-acting growth hormone receptor antagonist for acromegaly.
1. Trial begins
The trial will assess OPK-8801001’s safety, tolerability and pharmacological activity. The investigational drug targets once-weekly administration; preclinical studies showed sustained, dose-dependent suppression of insulin-like growth factor-1, a marker of acromegaly activity.
