Oppenheimer adds former Guggenheim team to expand institutional derivatives business

Oppenheimer Holdings Inc. expanded its institutional derivatives platform with seven senior hires from Guggenheim Securities.

• Ed Boll joined as head of derivatives strategy; Steve Ahn joined for derivatives strategy and idea generation.
• Matthew Shaffer joined in derivatives sales and trading; Steven Weingroff, Nick Colucci, Julia Marcus joined in derivatives sales.
• Jia Li joined to lead derivatives algo technology; William Visconto will support the business as an external adviser.
• The hires broaden derivatives strategy, execution, and technology coverage across institutional equities.
