Higher operating costs and quarterly results
SG&A expenses increased mainly due to higher employee, sales personnel and shipping costs.
The company reported net income of $1.86 million, or $0.21 per share, for fiscal Q3. Income from operations was $2.11 million and pretax profit was $1.87 million.

Optical Cable said fiscal third-quarter sales rose 22% year over year, driven by enterprise and data center markets.
The U.S. fiber optic cabling maker said increased demand in enterprise, data center and specialty markets drove the sales growth.
