Orange, Equitix and MDM form joint venture to deploy Pisces subsea cable system
ORAN•Orange formed a joint venture with Equitix and MDM to build the 3,125-kilometer Pisces cable, with 16 fiber pairs linking Ireland to continental Europe; deployment is slated for 2028 with European Union funding.
1. Cable project details
The cable is planned to land in Galway, Saint-Hilaire-de-Riez, Sopelana and Carcavelos. The project targets an open-access route to France, Spain and Portugal that bypasses UK transit for Ireland-bound traffic.
