Orange and Telesat to launch first European Lightspeed gateway
Orange entered a partnership with Telesat to commission Europe’s first gateway for the Telesat Lightspeed low-Earth orbit constellation in France.
The gateway is hosted at Orange’s Tier-4 certified Bercenay-en-Othe teleport, supporting deployment of Telesat’s planned initial 225 satellites.
Orange will provide secure ground connectivity linking the station to Telesat’s planned Paris point of presence, targeting high availability and low latency.
Telesat targets a global in-service date of Q1 2028 for Lightspeed, positioning Orange as a strategic ground-segment partner.
