ORIX launched virtual PPAs using third-party renewable assets, expanding beyond its own generation to scale environmental attribute supply in Japan.
Tsubakimoto Chain’s Saitama plant will receive environmental value from 10 solar plants in TEPCO Power Grid’s area, totaling about 7.7 MW.
Annual output is estimated at about 9 GWh, equating to roughly 3,789 tons of CO2 emissions reductions for the customer.
ORIX targets a framework to supply the equivalent of 600 GWh a year by fiscal year-end, aiming to meet rising corporate decarbonization demand.
