Oshkosh Defense, Michigan Tech advance 120 kW vehicle power kit toward production-ready design
OSK•Oshkosh Defense and Michigan Tech’s APS LABS are advancing a vehicle power kit designed to generate up to 120 kW at 600 volts DC. Two prototypes are planned for government assessment, with two more planned for further testing.
1. Power kit development
Oshkosh Corporation’s defense unit partnered with Michigan Tech’s APS LABS to move a Vehicle Integrated Power Kit toward production. The kit targets the FMTV A2 platform and is designed to generate up to 120 kW at 600 volts DC, aligned with the Tactical Microgrid Standard for field interoperability. The work includes completing a technical data package and design changes aimed at manufacturability and mission readiness.
2. Prototype testing
Two prototypes will be completed and validated for government assessment, with two more planned for further testing.
