Oshkosh Wins $25-30M Netherlands Patrol Vehicle Contract, Supplies Training Kits

OSKOSK

Oshkosh secured a $25-30 million order from the Netherlands Ministry of Defence for additional Dutch Expeditionary Patrol Vehicles (DXPV), including two training kits. The vehicles feature an open systems design for future technology integration and are aimed at enhancing allied interoperability and battlefield readiness.

1. Oshkosh Accelerates Autonomous Equipment Rollout

Oshkosh Corporation has begun integrating its TerraMax autonomous driving technology into industrial and construction equipment, leveraging decades of battlefield-proven automation capabilities. The company recently completed pilot deployments with two major North American contractors, demonstrating a 15% improvement in machine utilization and a 20% reduction in operator fatigue over a six-month evaluation period. Senior management projects that autonomous retrofits and new-build autonomous equipment could contribute as much as $50 million in incremental revenue by fiscal year 2027, supported by an addressable market estimated at $3.2 billion across roadbuilding, mining and material handling segments. Analysts note that successful commercialization of autonomy would enhance gross margins by up to 300 basis points, given the higher service content and software licensing fees associated with autonomous systems.

2. Netherlands Ministry of Defence Expands DXPV Order

Oshkosh Defense Europe and Oshkosh Defense, LLC secured a follow-on order valued at $25–30 million from the Netherlands Ministry of Defence for additional Dutch Expeditionary Patrol Vehicles (DXPVs), known locally as the “Kaaiman.” This award raises Oshkosh’s defense vehicle backlog by approximately 4%, reflecting sustained demand for modernized, interoperable mobility platforms. The contract includes two full training kits to accelerate unit readiness, enabling Dutch forces to commence on-vehicle training immediately upon delivery. With the DXPV platform’s open-architecture design, the Netherlands can integrate emerging sensors, communications suites and unmanned systems over the next decade, supporting an estimated $100 million modernization roadmap. Management highlighted that this order reinforces Oshkosh Defense’s role as a strategic partner to NATO allies and underpins expectations for mid-single-digit annual defense segment revenue growth through 2026.
