Ouster partners with Seneca to integrate Rev8 color lidar into autonomous wildfire-response drones
OUST•Ouster partnered with Seneca to integrate its Rev8 OS1 Max color lidar into Seneca’s autonomous drone platform for wildfire response. Seneca plans to use the lidar for higher-speed cargo flights, terrain-following mapping and infrastructure inspection.
1. Lidar for wildfire drones
The partnership focuses on using Ouster’s Rev8 OS1 Max digital lidar to improve perception, navigation and obstacle avoidance in low-visibility conditions. Ouster’s platform is described as NDAA §164-compliant and BABA-compliant, supporting Seneca’s strategy for US-designed and assembled aircraft.
