Palo Alto Networks reports growing AI adoption across cyberthreat operations
PANW•Palo Alto Networks’ Nov. 2, 2026, cybersecurity report highlighted threat actors’ use of generative AI in espionage and financially motivated operations.
1. AI in cyberattacks
The report said attackers used AI to scale tailored social engineering, accelerate malicious code development and support executive impersonation. It also described cybercriminals combining data theft with ransomware or public exposure threats, and espionage campaigns exploiting zero-day vulnerabilities and legitimate administration tools.
