Pan American Silver Boosts 2025 Silver Guidance to 22-25M Ounces
Pan American Silver increased its 2025 silver production guidance to 22-25 million ounces following output gains at its Juanicipio venture and stronger mine performance. Management cited a robust start to the year driven by higher throughput across operations.
1. Upgraded 2025 Silver Production Guidance
Pan American Silver has raised its 2025 silver production forecast to between 22 million and 25 million ounces, up from its prior range of 20 million to 23 million ounces. This improvement is driven by stronger-than-expected output at its oxide plants and record quarterly throughput at the Dolores mine in Mexico. Management highlighted that first-quarter aggregate silver production reached 5.5 million ounces, representing a 12% increase over the same period last year and putting the company on track to exceed its revised mid-cycle targets.
2. Juanicipio Project Accelerates Output Ramp-Up
The joint-venture Juanicipio mine in Mexico contributed 1.8 million ounces of silver in Q1, surpassing internal forecasts by 15%. Pan American Silver’s 44% stake in Juanicipio yielded 792,000 ounces for the quarter. Project officials reported sustained mill availability above 92% and mill feed grades averaging 210 grams per tonne silver equivalent. With expansion plans to boost annual milling capacity from 4.8 million tonnes to 5.5 million tonnes by Q3, Juanicipio is expected to add an incremental 2 million ounces of silver output in fiscal 2025.
3. Strong Operating Cash Flow and Momentum Appeal
The company generated $180 million of operating cash flow in Q1, up 25% year-over-year, supported by disciplined cost control with all-in sustaining costs holding near $18 per ounce. Net debt declined by $45 million to $485 million, lowering the debt-to-EBITDA ratio to 1.9x. Trading volume for the stock has increased by 30% over the past two months, reflecting heightened interest from momentum investors. Analysts note that the combination of robust cash flow, expanding production, and a strengthened balance sheet positions the company as an attractive pick for those targeting growth in the precious metals space.
