Paramount Skydance clears regulatory conditions for Warner Bros. Discovery acquisition
PSKY•Regulatory clearances remove most closing hurdles
Paramount Skydance moved closer to closing its proposed acquisition of Warner Bros. Discovery following merger clearances in 68 countries.
Mexico granted clearance, leaving litigation by 12 state attorneys general as the remaining obstacle to completing the deal.
The eight-month review covered major markets including the EU, UK, China, and the U.S. Department of Justice.
Management said the companies could close immediately absent the state litigation, citing mounting costs from delays and disruption.
Paramount reiterated commitments to sustain film output, including releasing at least 30 films annually across the combined company.
