The Federal Circuit sent ParkerVision’s patent case against Qualcomm back to the Middle District of Florida after dismissing the appeal for lack of jurisdiction. The receiver-claims claim-construction issue remains unresolved, with a later appeal possible only after a final district court judgment.
Attention now shifts to a jury trial on transmitter patent claims, for which ParkerVision seeks about $440 million in damages, excluding potential interest. The Federal Circuit also denied a request to reassign the case to a different district judge.
