Pasqal Deploys 200-Qubit Neutral-Atom System with Aramco, Launches ME Quantum Cloud
BBCQ•Pasqal, preparing to go public via SPAC merger with Bleichroeder Acquisition Corp. II, deployed a 200-qubit neutral-atom system at Aramco’s Dhahran data center for reservoir optimization, CO2 storage, well placement, rig scheduling and port logistics. The installation also serves as the Middle East’s first commercial quantum computing–as-a-service cloud platform accessible to regional enterprises and research institutions.
1. SPAC Merger and IPO Plans
Pasqal announced plans to go public through a merger with Bleichroeder Acquisition Corp. II, positioning the company to access public capital for scaling its quantum offerings. The SPAC deal is expected to provide substantial funding to expand deployments and support ongoing research into neutral-atom systems.
2. Aramco Partnership Details
Pasqal deployed a 200-qubit neutral-atom system at Aramco’s Dhahran data center, enabling low-latency cloud access for reservoir optimization, CO2 storage, well placement, rig scheduling and port logistics. CEO Wasiq Bokhari noted that classical computers struggle with rig scheduling’s vast configuration space, whereas Pasqal’s processors can explore larger solution spaces for higher-quality outcomes.
3. Middle East Quantum Cloud Service
The Dhahran installation became the Middle East’s first commercial quantum computing–as-a-service platform, granting regional enterprises and research institutions remote access to advanced quantum hardware. This secure cloud platform lowers entry barriers by eliminating the need for clients to invest in their own cryogenic infrastructure.
4. Advantages of Neutral-Atom Technology
Pasqal’s neutral-atom architecture operates at room temperature, avoiding costly cryogenic requirements of other quantum modalities and simplifying integration into existing data center environments. This approach supports easier installation and faster deployment cycles, making quantum solutions more accessible to non-specialist users.
