Payoneer extended its 15-year partnership with Upwork as the primary wallet and direct-to-local-bank payout provider for freelancers across Africa, APAC, Europe, Latin America and Middle East. Upwork will serve as a design partner to pilot stablecoin payouts for faster fund access and will link Payoneer SMB clients with freelance talent.

Payoneer extended its 15-year strategic collaboration with Upwork to remain the primary wallet and direct-to-local-bank payout provider for international freelancers across five key regions, reinforcing its role in the global freelance economy.
2. Stablecoin Pilot Initiative
Upwork joins as a design partner to pilot stablecoin-enabled payouts, targeting faster, more flexible fund access for freelancers in Latin America and other emerging markets facing payment delays.
3. SMB Talent Collaboration
The companies will leverage Upwork’s global talent pool to support Payoneer’s small and medium-sized business clients, expanding their access to cross-border freelance expertise and on-demand services.
4. Global Payment Infrastructure
Payoneer’s platform spans 190 countries and territories and integrates nearly 100 banks and payment service providers, enabling secure, compliant cross-border payouts at scale and real-time money movement innovation.
