Teacher confidence in teaching AI increased from 9% in 2025 to 16% in 2026, while the share of educators reporting that AI tools positively impacted their schools climbed from 12% to 29% over two years, indicating growing acceptance of AI applications in classrooms.
2. AI Adoption Streamlines Workload
AI usage among UK schoolteachers rose, with only 12% now reporting no AI use compared to 20% last year. A majority of primary (57%) and secondary (48%) teachers cite time savings on administrative tasks, freeing up resources for teaching activities.
3. Training Deficit Presents Revenue Opportunity
Despite rising AI adoption, just 6% of teachers believe the system offers sufficient digital emphasis and only 8% feel they prepare students for an AI-enabled future. With 53% requesting more AI-focused CPD and 34% seeking specialized SEND training, Pearson can address this skills gap through expanded professional development offerings.
