Pelangio Launches Deep CSEM Survey Covering 9.2 km² and 2.8 km² in Ghana
Pelangio Exploration has commissioned a controlled-source electromagnetic survey on its Obuasi and Manfo projects in Ghana, covering 9.2 km² with 295 stations and 2.8 km² with 100 stations to target conductive and resistive mineralization at depths exceeding one kilometre. The Obuasi survey starts mid-April alongside a 333-station survey by AngloGold Ashanti, running two months with a one-month 3D inversion modeling phase.
1. CSEM Survey Commissioned
Pelangio Exploration has engaged SEMS Exploration Services of Ghana to perform controlled-source electromagnetic surveys on its Obuasi and Manfo gold projects. The surveys aim to detect conductive sulphide ore and resistive gold-bearing quartz lodes to depths of one kilometre or more beneath both properties.
2. Survey Scope and Methodology
The Obuasi survey covers 9.2 km² with 295 stations on a 170 m grid and will run concurrently with AngloGold Ashanti’s 333-station survey over 10.4 km². The Manfo survey will cover 2.8 km² with 100 stations. Both surveys use an IRIS Instruments TIP 12000 transmitter powered by a 20 kVA generator and Metronics MT-grade receivers for high-resolution imaging.
3. Timeline and Next Steps
Field work is slated to begin in mid-April and extend for approximately two months if weather permits, followed by a one-month period for 3D inversion modeling and reporting. Survey results will inform recommendations for potential follow-up drilling and resource targeting on both projects.
