Pennsylvania American Water closes wastewater system purchase
American Water Works’ Pennsylvania American Water closed the purchase of the Sutersville-Sewickley Municipal Sewage Authority wastewater system for $3.25 million.
The asset serves about 500 customer connections across Sutersville Borough and Sewickley Township in Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania.
Pennsylvania American Water plans about $700,000 in capital spending over five years to upgrade the system’s quality and reliability.
The transaction follows a May 2025 sale decision; the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission cleared the deal on March 26, 2026.
