PepsiCo Hits 100% Water Replenishment, Adopts AWS Standard at All High-Risk Sites
PepsiCo achieved its 2025 pep+ goals by replenishing 100% of water used at all company-owned facilities in high water-risk watersheds and restored nearly 29 billion liters through global nature-based projects. It also implemented the Alliance for Water Stewardship Standard across every high-risk manufacturing site to strengthen water resilience.
1. 100% Water Replenishment Achieved
PepsiCo fully replenished 100% of water used at all company-owned facilities in high water-risk watersheds, restoring the equivalent of every liter consumed through conservation, wetland restoration, irrigation efficiency and infrastructure initiatives. In 2025, over 60 nature-based projects returned nearly 29 billion liters to local watersheds.
2. AWS Standard Implemented Globally
The company adopted the Alliance for Water Stewardship Standard across every high water-risk manufacturing site, creating a unified framework to measure and manage local water risks and enhance stewardship practices globally.
3. Key Projects Driving Replenishment
Major initiatives spanned the Colorado River (1.3 billion liters), Nile watershed in Egypt (725 million liters), Turkish drip irrigation programs (779 million liters), Dominican Republic agroforestry (177 million liters) and Spain's Segura River restoration (70 million liters).
4. Outlook on 2030 Water Goals
With 2025 targets sunsetting, PepsiCo aims by 2030 to extend replenishment to franchise bottlers, achieve efficiency ratios of 1.4 liters per liter produced and reach 100 million people with safe water access.
