Performance Shipping completes sale of Aframax tanker P. Sophia for US$35.65 million

The vessel had been acquired in Q3 2022 for about US$27.6 million and was debt-free on delivery.

Management said the sale improves liquidity and advances fleet renewal progress. On a pro forma basis, the company said the average fleet age has been reduced to about six years.

Performance Shipping completed the sale of its 2009-built Aframax tanker M/T P. Sophia, delivering the vessel to the new owners.

The gross sale price was set at US$35.65 million. The transaction had previously been announced on Feb. 17, 2026.
