Petrobras Finalizes Block 3 Acquisition, Assumes Operatorship in São Tomé and Príncipe
PBR•Petrobras has completed acquisition of a stake in the offshore Block 3 exploration license in São Tomé and Príncipe and formally assumed operatorship of the asset. The deal expands Petrobras’ West Africa exploration portfolio, supporting its strategy to boost production capacity and diversify its upstream holdings.
1. Block 3 Acquisition Completed
Petrobras finalised its acquisition of a stake in the offshore Block 3 exploration license in São Tomé and Príncipe and has officially taken over as the operator of the asset, gaining full control of exploration and development decisions.
2. Strategic Portfolio Expansion
The deal broadens Petrobras’ West African footprint, adds a high-potential deepwater project to its upstream portfolio and aligns with the company’s plan to enhance production capacity and diversify its resource base in strategic regions.
