Petrobras reported R$ 161 billion in taxes and government take paid in 1H 2026 on a cash basis, highlighting its significant contribution to Brazil’s public finances.
The total included:
- R$ 106.1 billion in taxes tied to its own operations
- R$ 37.2 billion in government take
- R$ 17.7 billion in taxes withheld from third parties
Federal allocations reached R$ 98.7 billion, representing about 6.1% of total federal tax revenues.
The year-on-year increase was attributed to higher corporate income tax, royalties, and export tax collections.
The company paid R$ 2.5 billion in export tax through June under a provisional measure that imposed the levy on crude oil and diesel exports.
State tax payments totaled R$ 61.1 billion, about 13.8% of state collections.
Municipal taxes were about R$ 1.2 billion.
