Effective March 14, Petrobras will increase the wholesale diesel price by 0.38 reais per liter for distributors. The adjustment reflects recent oil market shocks and aims to realign domestic pricing with international benchmarks without immediate retail pass-through.

Petrobras’ board has approved voluntary participation in the government’s diesel subsidy mechanism established by Provisional Measure No. 1,340. Formal adhesion will occur only after the National Agency for Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels publishes the reference price and operational regulations.

Joining the subsidy program allows Petrobras to stabilize domestic diesel prices while preserving commercial strategy flexibility. The company maintains its pricing policy to avoid direct transfer of short-term oil and currency volatility, balancing market share, refinery utilization and profitability.
