Phio Pharmaceuticals’ third-quarter 2026 net loss widened 74% year over year to $4.16 million, primarily due to higher research and development expenses. R&D spending more than doubled to $3.06 million, driven mainly by higher toxicology, drug-substance and clinical-supply costs. Cash and cash equivalents fell 50% from December 31, 2025, to $10.61 million at September 30, 2026. The company said PH-762’s first commercial-scale cGMP drug-substance batch was released, supporting a Phase 2b study expected to begin in the first quarter of 2027.
