Pinterest taps Amazon veteran James Dibbo as CFO

Pinterest appointed Amazon executive James Dibbo as CFO, effective October 26. He will succeed Julia Donnelly, and Pinterest shares were down about 1% in extended trading.

1. CFO appointment

Dibbo, 56, has led finance for Amazon’s Ads, Prime Video and Amazon MGM Studios businesses, among others. Pinterest CEO Bill Ready said Dibbo understands the intersection of consumer experience, shopping, advertising and technology. Donnelly, who joined Pinterest in 2023, is leaving for a new opportunity at a private, early-stage company.

2. Advertising outlook

Pinterest had forecast slower third-quarter revenue growth as it navigates a highly competitive digital advertising market dominated by larger players such as Meta’s Instagram and Facebook.
