Planet subsidiary Sinergise wins ESA contract to build Slovenia space resilience node
PL•Planet Labs PBC unit Sinergise Solutions won a 12-month ESA contract to build Slovenia’s Space Resilience Node, initially focused on wildfire monitoring across the country’s 20,000 square kilometers.
1. Pilot targets wildfire monitoring
The system will scan open Copernicus data and PlanetScope imagery, then trigger high-resolution tasking through Planet’s Pelican fleet when anomalies reach set thresholds. The project aims to automate workflows linking wide-area change detection with high-resolution tasking for Slovenia’s civil protection agency, with architecture designed to scale to other hazards and agencies.
