Polestar Plans Four New EV Models by 2028 Following 34% Sales Surge
Polestar plans four models between 2026 and 2028: Polestar 5 this summer, a Polestar 4 variant in Q4, next-gen Polestar 2 in early 2027 and SUV Polestar 7 in 2028. It reported 60,119 retail sales in 2025, up 34%, secured a $400m investment and will expand its retail network 30%.
1. Product Roadmap Expansion
Polestar is executing its largest product expansion by launching four models over three years. The rollout begins with the Polestar 5 grand tourer this summer, followed by a Polestar 4 SUV variant in Q4 2026, a next-generation Polestar 2 in early 2027 and SUV Polestar 7 in 2028.
2. Record Sales Growth
The company sold 60,119 vehicles in 2025, marking a 34% increase from 2024, and delivered 15,608 units in Q4, up 27% year-on-year. Polestar projects low double-digit retail volume growth in 2026 based on rising demand.
3. Funding and Network Growth
Polestar secured a $400 million equity investment from Feathertop Funding and Standard Chartered Bank (Hong Kong), each holding put options exercisable in three years. It also plans to expand its retail network by about 30% to support direct sales and broaden its customer base.
