Pony.ai Debuts Europe’s First Robotaxi Service in Zagreb Covering 90 km² Zone at 7 a.m.–9 p.m.
Pony.ai has launched Europe’s first commercial robotaxi service in Zagreb, covering roughly 90 square kilometers—including the city center and airport—with rides bookable via the Verne app and Uber integration coming soon. The rollout supports Pony.ai’s dual-engine growth strategy aiming for 3,000 vehicles by year-end.
1. European Robotaxi Service Launch
Pony.ai has inaugurated Europe’s first commercial robotaxi service in Zagreb in partnership with Verne, with Uber app integration to follow. The service operates daily from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. across a 90 square-kilometer zone that includes central districts and Zagreb Airport.
2. Dual-Engine Growth Strategy
This launch advances Pony.ai’s dual-engine growth strategy by extending its commercial footprint into Europe and building on recent Gen-7 unit economics breakeven milestones achieved in two Chinese tier-one cities. The joint-deployment model combines Pony.ai’s autonomous driving platform with local partners’ regulatory and operational expertise.
3. Expansion Plans and Fleet Goals
Bookings are now open via the Verne app with Uber integration coming soon, and the service zone is set to expand across additional city districts. Pony.ai aims to scale its global fleet to 3,000 robotaxis by the end of the year.
