Pony.ai’s Shenzhen fleet of Gen-7 Robotaxis achieved unit economics breakeven, marking the first sustained profitability at this vehicle generation. As of February 28, each vehicle generated an average RMB338 in net revenue and handled 23 paid rides per day, covering depreciation, energy, maintenance and operating costs.

Strong Chinese New Year travel demand combined with optimized dispatch algorithms and lower charging expenses propelled daily order volumes and revenue per vehicle. Improved user experience and service reliability drove higher willingness to pay, contributing to the breakeven threshold.

Following the success in Guangzhou and now Shenzhen, Pony.ai plans to expand its Gen-7 fleet across additional cities over the next several years. Management aims to leverage this sustainable model by increasing vehicle deployments and targeting new commercial corridors to boost paid orders and revenue growth.
